LECORTINA: HANDMADE SHOES MADE IN ITALY

Le cortina shoes are 100% made in italy, designed and handcrafted in italy.

100% Made in Italy (or manufactured in Italy). Every single step in the production process of LeCortina shoes – from the design to the realization of the model, from the choice of the leather to assembling and the quality check are entirely carried out in Italy (from Firenze stile) Handmade (or Handmade).

The manufacturing steps of the LeCortina shoes are mostly handmade. The use of machineries in the production steps is limited to the support of manual work.

LeCortina heritage boots: the Ideal original hand crafting. The assembling process of the heritage boots LeCortina (or Cortina 1956) pursues a traditional and artisanal work, which is rooted in the past centuries: the original Ideal manufacturing.

Once the upper is ready (body of the shoe, that is the leather part of the shoe), this is placed on a mold, and then is attached to the real rubber sole.

The assembling process starts by the handcraft of the “seamless” upper, i.e. by opening up the hemlines of the upper outwards, to make it perfectly stick to the shoe underlying parts.

After that, the upper is stitched to the innersole and then to the sole itself with special high resistance glue and finally, in the LeCortina heritage boots (or Cortina 1956) with double stitching.

The leather, the innersole and the sole are double hand-stitched – as well as by using a machine called Rapid – with cotton or nylon twine. In this step the twine is covered with pitch, which allows the twine to run smoothly during the sewing phase and guarantees the sealing of the shoe, the twine and the holes.

The LeCortina heritage boots are manufactured by following a kind of shoemaking process based on the concepts of resistance, softness, waterproofness and durability.

Our goal is to realize long-lasting and comfortable heritage boots (still long-lasting despite their overuse and the bad weather conditions, as well as normal wear and tear.
